The HG Wells is owned by the family run Butcher and Barell Pub Company. They also own a number of other pubs in London and the home counties take a look at the links on the site. There is no middle men involved or major head office, Richard and James Morgan still play a major part in the day to day running of the pubs and you will regular see them behind the bar working and talking to the customers. We look forward to seeing you at the bar.

The Butcher and Barrel ethos is shown in the HG Wells as it is now not only a comfortable and relaxed place for you to meet, eat and drink in the day and bring all the family to but is also a destination venue for a fantastic night out.

Our focus is on giving the local community and neighbourhood what they want in a local pub, and perhaps a little more.

We only source the freshest produce to consistently offer interesting,traditional British menus, alongside a good selection of cask ales and affordable wines. Ultimately, we understand the key appeal of great pubs lies in their historic role at the centre of the local community a warm, welcoming house of good food, drink and company.
